Most common types of spine conditions

A common occurrence in many, lower back pain is often caused by a series of reasons ranging from strain/injury to the muscles on the back, to even conditions such as arthritis, disc injuries, etc. Although most cases tend to be mild, and can treat itself with adequate rest and care, the more severe cases can often be fatal and lead to complications if not treated early on.
Symptoms of lower back pain often occur gradually, or come and go at random intervals. In some cases, the pain can also travel down the legs, causing a condition known as sciatica. Common symptoms of lower back pain can include stiffness in the region, posture problems, aches or pops when doing a certain movement or activity, muscle spasms, etc. If you happen to experience any of these symptoms, do reach out and seek medical attention.

Neck pain is a common condition that many experience, which can be caused a variety of reasons such as overstrained muscles, worn out joints, nerve compressions, trauma/injury, as well as other medical illnesses/conditions. Although most cases of neck pain are mild and curable with adequate rest and care, certain cases tend to be severe and can lead to further complications if not tended to early on.
Some general symptoms of neck pain can include headaches, decreased ability to move the head/neck, muscle tightness and/or spasms, pain that worsens over time with prolonged poor posture, etc. If you happen to experience any of these symptoms, do reach out and seek medical attention.

Slipped disc, or herniated disc, is a condition wherein the spinal discs tend to protrude, causing pain, numbness and other complications. If not treated early on, slipped discs can be fatal and can severely affect quality of life.
Slipped discs are often caused by reasons including age, improper posture while lifting or twisting, obesity, weak muscles, sedentary lifestyle, etc. Common symptoms of a slipped disc can include pain/numbness in the back and legs, pain that extends to the arms, pain that worsens at night or when moving, pain that worsens when sitting/standing, unexplained muscle weakness, tingling or aching of the region, etc. If you happen to experience any of these symptoms, do reach out and seek medical attention.

Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine has an abnormal curvature, often developing in early childhood or adolescence. It can be categorised into two, depending on the nature and origin of the condition – congenital scoliosis and neuromuscular scoliosis. Congenital scoliosis is one that occurs at birth, while neuromuscular scoliosis develops as a result of neurological and/or muscular conditions that occur later in life.
Common symptoms of scoliosis often include uneven shoulders, mispositioned head (not centrally positioned to the pelvis), raised hip(s), uneven ribcage heights, uneven waist, abnormal texture of skin in the region, generic tilt to one side, etc. If you happen to experience any of these symptoms, do reach out and seek medical attention.
